how reliable do you think this will be

whats the differance between a stroker and just boring it over

what do you need to have this really reliable bc i might get 1 and i dont want it to blow or go through gaskets

the link you have is for a stroker piston, you also need the crank. i believe that a stroke would be more reliable thank an overbore. usually with a stroker you get more torque due to the increased stroke. with an 89mm bore (440) a 4mm stroker crank will make it a 460, and i believe with an 87mm bore (426) it is either a 450 or 440 withthe stroker crank. I just helped a buddy build a 460 motor and it screams. by far the best running 400 i have ridden. PM Mikeboone, he has a 460 drag quad he has just built and should be able to tell you everything you need to know about it.

What I run is Wiseco 4mm stroker crank. Parts Unlimited sells these (all dealers acn order). The "kit" thye offer uses a CP low compression flat top stroker piston and I am sure you would be plenty happy with.

Combine that with a Hotcam Stage 1 and you would have a long life 400 with super bottom-mid power!

I personally run the JE Ultralight 12:1 stroker piston and hav no gasket probs; still run stock cylinder studs too.

y do people bore it out and not have a stroker

people prefer boreing it out cause its easier cause u only half to take the topend apart to do it. when i bought my ex from my brother that thing had a 440 big bore in it. i was gonna just upgrade on that. then reading on here alot about strokers im gonna invest my money into making mine into a 460.

why is a stroker so much better though

It isnt nescesarily better. It is more of if you want great low end power get a stroker and bore your cylinder if you want high RPM power.

You will have both cylinder bored to 89mm and 4 mm stroker crank if you buy like I have. No one makes a stroker piston you can run at 85mm (stock bore)

Powroll offers a Tough Rod that you can use with any standard piston. (is 4mm shorter)

The Wiseco crank with CP piston is about $650 retail. All you have to add is sleeve and get your cylinder bored to 440.

soo i have .10 over bore on my 05 which isnt much i no but would getting the 4mm stroker crank help a-lot? with cams exhaust system and jets if i wanted to race mx? or xc cuz with all them 450's

and if the crank is 4mm shorter does that mean the top end will be robbed? cuz i dunno how much more less topend i could deal with lol

and what do you think a project liek this would run in price range at a guys shop outta his house that i kinda no 900$? if i had the bike stripped possibly?

and would it make it like a 420? or a 421? or something

My race shop ordered through parts Unlimited. P/U only sells to dealers so you will have to get a shop order them.

Contact C&D Racing on site here. Colby can install all you need.
