I heard a little while ago that you have to get a +1 steering stem for the ims 4 gallon tank to fit
Is this true?

GNCC limit is 4 gallons i believe, thats y ims only makes the 4 gallong tank, would bar risers work, like the tag risers?

I have an ims tank that was on my bike when I got it. It does have to have risers to get the bars off the tank, and you will also probably have to grind a little on part of the stem, the flat part that the bar mounts bolt to, but I am still using stock stem.

Will the clark work with the stock stem,handlebars,etc..?

I am using the IMS tank with the stock stem and stock bars. It does rub the tank (stem and handguards) at full lock depending on how it is bolted on. Aftermarket 7/8" bars hit the tank. I bent the stock bars and went to Renthal Fat Bars (CR high bend) with adaptors for the 1 1/8 bars. It clears the tank fine. Not that much bigger than stock - don't think it is really needed for GNCC's.

Has anyone raced a GNCC with the stock tank? Do you have to stop and get gas? I have the IMS on my 400EX and dont have to stop.

My teamate and I both race the 450R with stock tanks at the GNCCs we never stop for gas, even at the mud race in OH earlier this year. We both got to the finish right at the 45min dead line. So that was ~ 3hours of spining the tires at WOT. We still had some gas left. More gas = more weight. This is why I don't change my carb. (gas mileage):D
