new R owner

hey i just got an 88 trx250r last night

i've never owned an r before so im kinda clueless with the specifics....anybody got any suggestions or things i should look out for?

Does it run good?

You DO know that you have to mix 2-stroke oil with your gas, right? Not regular oil, it has to be 2-stroke premix.

lol it runs good....im not a complete idiot all the time, i know everything about riding a two stroke and mixing gas etc. :) speaking of which....what kind of oil is the best to run? so far i've been running redline in my dirtbikes.......

i was thinking more technical stuff that the average two-stroke rider might not know......like specific problems it may have if neglected....

there are several threads on here but the two that keep coming up as the best are maxima castor 927 and yamalube 2r. i use 2r right now but i have used klotz before. i like yamalube due to the fact that its cheap for me :).

i run klotz and amzoil...they are both very good oil's

as far as specifics just change the oil very often and keep your air filter clean...thats all i can sugest for right now...i havent really ever had a problem with my 250R besides blowing 2nd gear but it was my fault...not the quads
