I was wondering what the valve clearances were for a 450r with a hrc kit. My quad is starting to run funny.

valve clearences should be in your manual..

I believe it is .006 inches on the intake side and .011 inches for the exhaust side. Decompressor is .011 inches on the exhaust side + .010 for the decompressor for a total of .021 inches.

well I can see it being that big..it's on .004 I and .005 E on a EX...the R should be even tigher with the cam riding right on the intake valves

Yea these are the specs for the Hrc cam. The stock cam is going to have different specs. I dont believe they list the Hrc cam specs in the manual. The manual only lists the specs for the stock cam.

the valve clearances are even on the little sticker on the front of the frame. It is .006 intake and .011 exhaust and decompresspr clearance is the measured clearance of the right side exhaust valve plus .006

sorry for stealing your thread but does anyone know what the stock valve shim sizes are
