if my clutch is tight will wd40 work??? or do i need cable lube

you mean your clutch cable is sticking/hanging/etc? i would use cable lube, and the little tool in order to get it into the cable or else you will spray it everywhere but inside the cable, besides, both of these things are cheap!

I use a product called Dri Slide. comes in a bottle with a needle that you can insert into the cable so you dont need the seperate tool. find it works much better than cable lube and tool. Here is a link to where you can get it.

I learned early to just buy a new cable for 400ex's...the placemnet/routing from Honda is VERY pooryly thought out.The heards prematurely wear the cable out with heat.That is certainly why they are tight after a short while...total design snafu.:ermm:

I hit it with some graphite spray and that loosens it up for a while. Plus it doesn't attract dirt/dust.

if its tight, you should buy a cable luber and first clean it with contact cleaner then lube it. the lube causes dirt to stick to the cable thats why you should clean it first.
