a buddy of mine has an 05 350 rancher 4x4. he wants to start modding it with tires and rims. he also wants to know if anyone sells something to unlock the front drive system so you can toggle it from 2 wheel drive and 4 wheel drive???

Wow, I see you are not far away from me at all!

As you can see from my sig, I am getting ready to get a Rancher myself. To unlock the 4WD, Warn sells their 4-2-4 kit that is a two piece front driveshaft that locks and unlocks with a cable operated by a pull switch.
As for tires and wheels........It is no secret that Ranchers are NOT known for big HP numbers, so light weight is key............I'd suggest 25" ITP Mud Lites as 26" Mud Lites really take away from the bottom end power I am told.
I plan to go to a 12" wheel all the way around on mine, and like the ITP Delta's in black even though they are steel and not aluminum.
Hiper's will be sweet when they come out, but I'd bet they will be pricey.
