getting ready to order my ASV setup and I am just wondering who is using the hot start lever for the reverse cable on a 300ex. Also how did you "wire" it so it worked? Any pictures?

Hang on, what's the hot start lever? How do you use it for reverse? I'm tired of having to start my bike 6 times in a row sicne I have to let off the gas to get the reverse.

you can see the hot start lever in the last picture. Its the thing underneath the handle bar. Its made for newer kick start 4 strokes and it relieves the compression in the head or something like that so it starts easier. Remember you will still have to lift the red lever on the left side of your bike to get into reverse, this is just for replacing the little red button on the clutch.

allright here is where i had to move the electrical box and you will be able to see the 2 wires i unplugged from the stock perch and they just dangle there. That means you cannot start in gear you can only start in neutral.

here is my whole setup. i had to move my electrical box thing down there to keep the lever inside the bars to keep them from breaking if i flipped on my sidehttp://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid191/p04f4e74882619952d55e9b868e2c250c/f1d3b771.jpg

If you connect the two wires together you will be able to start in gear. Just remember to pull in the clutch.;)

I just removed that cable all together when I put my Fly perch on mine. Now just reach down and pull up for reverse. Best thing I have done to it yet.

Yeah. I replaced my cable with a 2 stroke exhaust spring and my reverse lever with a foot shifter. Now all I do is put it in neutral and step on the foot shifter for reverse.

I don't understand why you'd need a hot start lever on a 300ex? It's electric start. Whenever my quad is warmed up, i just barley touch the starter button and it's running. Explain to me why you'd want to do this

It isn't being used for hotstart. It is to replace the red button on the clutch lever.
