i am looking into buying a rear elka elite seris shock for my 400ex an am wondering if its nessecery to get the linkage to right no i am running a durablue rear lowering kit and a stock linkage on a +1.25 swinger can i still run that or should i get the ela linkage?

The elka linkage will make it ride that much nicer and they claim it gives more travel.

so it isnt really that neccesary to buy it also? and how much better will it ride?

No its not necessary at all, I cant tell you how much better it is cause I've never ridden one with and one without back to back. Elka claims .5" increase in travel with just a shock and something like 1.5" with the linkage shock combo for the Z. I rode my buddies Z with the elka shock and linkage and to be honest it felt just about as good as my stock EX rebuilt by elka, with stock linkage.

i got my 400ex rear linkage from gt thunder and had him revalve my rear shock...big difference...i thin and aftermarket shock would be a little better, but this is almost as good...i am still playing with it to find where i like it for my style of riding...every ride improves with each tweak
