Quick Q for the pros.....when should you check your oil level....hot or cold motor?

Definitly Hot...let it sit for minute or so.

Let me emphasize, LET IT SIT FOR A MINUTE OR TWO.


Yes, you want to check it while it's hot, but you don't want to check it immediately after it's been running. Oil is obviously circulating through your engine, so you need to give it a minute or two to trickle down and settle. Otherwise, you'll get a low reading.

let it idle for 5 min and let sit for a minute and check
