ever beaten a predator 500?

to beat a piped predator in a straight the 400ex would have to have some extensive engine work

I was at a poker run yesterday and they had drag races there. I saw a 400ex beat a Predator and another 400ex beat a 450R. However, I also saw a Predator damn near roll over backwards off the line then come back to beat a 400ex.

In any case it seemed to be the better rider that won. Not necessarily the machine.

I agree, my buddy has a predator and i stomp his butt all the time drag racing.

there's no way, the predator are so much faster. I know a guy who has a predator and beats yfzs. and the two riders are equal believe me

well then both riders suck cause i have beaten a couple of predators with just the mods in my sig. i have 2 other buddies that have z400s that have nothing more than pipes and have beaten predatotors. it has alot to do with the rider.

i have a buddy with a hotcam stage 2 426ex ported running a FCR and i loose him in 2nd gear and he falls back fast, there is no comparison. that was with my 04 Predator my 05 TLD is 5x faster to 50mph (close ratio tranny) running stock for stock with my TLD i can loose a stock 400ex by almost 100ft in a 300ft race

put me upagainst ANY 400ex or z400 and i will run for slips! with my TLD (Whitebros pipe,rath header,39tooth sprocket)

im sure there are alot of guys that will back me up.....

Pretty funny............ I have a 03 Pred and Ive smoked 416's, and 450's in my days. But also, I have got beaten by 450's to. 400's are not even a competition to me, shouldnt be to any Pred

hey well i've been right on a predator that was stock and it was the 05 and my 400ex was all stock cept for pipe and k&n and the jets... if i raced it agian im sure i could beat it...... i dunno how much quicker it would make the pred if it got a pipe but im sure it would be close still....

I have raced a preditor. I have a 406cc 11:1 compression, high velocity port and polished, stage 1 cam, hmf, fcr 39mm, k&n, Aluminum no lid air box, stock gearing. I out ran him till about high 4rth.

He had a pipe and k&n

It is all rider, I weigh 235 pounds, he weighes 110 pounds. Big difference.

I need taller gearing tho.....

I've taken a few on my atc250r also(one was a challange to do, but I got him in the end due to the fact that he got tired), and one on my 200x, but that guy couldn't ride to save his life. It comes down to the rider, simply put. I've passed 450r's on my 200x, but again those were new york boys who only knew how to ride up and down streets and do donuts and wheelies, they couldn't ride a track to save their lives. Also at the same time I had guys on 450r's pass me when I was riding my crf450r quad, but those guys were racers that ride 3-4 times a week. Unless you really have a big handicap,it comes down to the rider, drag racing.....well I've not done much of that, I can attest to my expeirence with mx.

I do that a good bit:) It does take some $$ to make the EX 'fast' but it's worth to me. There has been no quad take even my old 440 on asphalt though no built banshees have strolled up;)

To me it's about parts and costs. I can buy 3 400ex's for price of nice used 450R. Sell two in parts and build a good one:devil:

all you guys talking about beating predators have major work done. Get a piped predator and a piped 400ex and race them. I totally agree it is NEARLY all the riders. but the predators are still a faster bike in a straight. Go get two stock bikes and have the same person run them in a 300 foot drag and dont tell me the predator wouldn't win.

But there's no way I'd get a predator over my EX, because anything besides straights I'll eat em'.

The guy wasnt talking about racing stock 400's; he said ANY 400ex or Z400. I have no doubt the Predator would be faster in drag mod for mod.

We DO have a 300ft dirt drag now and the 'stock' Pred 500 got shutout first round.

well it's obvious you can make a 400ex beat a predator. but the predators of the floor are faster than the 400s.

This thread should stop, it's just another ridiculous argument where both sides are correct

I've beaten a predator many many times over, but it takes using the nitrous on my bike to do it. - Thats on the sand. The only other engine work I've done is a stage one hotcam, Sparks X6 pipe, aluminum airbox and K&N.

I've beaten many pred.s at yearly drag races. I've also beat DS650s, yfz450s, raptors and such. Then again I've lost to a mod raptor and slightly modded yzf450s. And my 416 is pretty well worked..-darren
