Looking to upgrade the ignition on a couple of engines. One is a 265pv and the other is a 350pv. We mainly do short sprints (ATV rodeos) and a little drag racing.

What should we go with?

Thanks!!

ESR CR250 ignition. Small flywheel lets it rev real good and the spark is alot better. Way better!!

The CR250 is still a fixed spark curve. I'll admit, I'm not a true ignition guru, so I don't know how the CR250 curve differs from the stock curve.

However, I DO know enough to say that you won't get maximum performance without an adjustable curve, tailored for your application.

Now, it might only be a difference of 1-2HP, but it's still a difference. It's something you might want to look in to.

chevy 454 do you need your lights? i know methyman doesnt.

wilkin has a point and The new PVL digital ignition had a auto reard and advance which you can tune your motor for more bottom end or top end, depending on the timing. I had the old pvl ignition and it was great, I coudl adjust my power by playing with the timing. It definately will rev higher with a PVL. they may even have a verions out with lights by now.

meth you def need one of these for your dragger.

this is just my 2 cents

i ran a pvl awhile back and adjusting the timing was great but very time consuming for very little gains from what i could feel with in the pants tuning

only went on dyno once

i would recommend the cr ignition for all around

i adjusted my timing 5 times in less then 10 minutes. as long as you get the initial timing correct advancing and retarding is easy.
