Hey Z riders. I am looking at buying a couple of year old Z/KFX. They seem like a great quad but I have noticed that they seem to be prone to cracked frames with abuse. I was wondering if somebody could explain or maybe show a pic of the area(s) too watch for. Like I say seems like a great quad but I want a clean start. Also is there anything else I should really watch for?

the upper shock mount is the worst spot. if you do any jumping it will crack, its just a matter of time. if you go on z-400 central (http://www.z400central.com) you can find a pic if you search the boards. luckily, a company called bare performance can hook you up with a frame gusset kit (http://www.bareperformance.com/shop/index.php?cPath=23) to fix the problem. hope this helps.

Yah thanks, I know about the gusset kit which I plan to throw on after I get a "Z". I just want to make sure that I get one that doesn't have pre existing damage cause I know that once it has cracked it's more work than just the kit. Thanks I will take a look for that pic.
