break-in

getting mine tomorrow and will be using what fits off the 04 and heading to Hatfield/McCoy next Friday.Since we don't have a pipe yet or much time till departure,would this be safe for break in? I would use the end cap from HRC kit on stock muffler,pull the lid and use stock air filter,with a 185 main jet.I also have a 160 and a 190 jet if I need one of those.

I would leave it alone and ride it stock until you get the right stuff. Also here is a good site on break in.

the FCR jetting is gonna be different than the carbs for '04 and '05 bikes.....you'll be using somewhere around a 170-175 main jet more than likely...

I'm gonna be jetting mine tomorrow once I get my pipe on, i'll let ya know which main jet to use....i dont have a needle or pilot jet yet so that'll have to wait.....
