06 450r noise?????

I just picked up my 06 on Sat. Very Very happy with my choice. I have two questions for those other proud owners of these fine pieces of machinery. Does your motor seem to be louder then the 05's? Mine seems to have a knock or a loud tick to it?? And one other thing when riding at lower rpms and you go to hit it, does it seem to hesitate then rev up. These are just some things that I've noticed. Lookin for some answers the these questions. I know its not even broken in yet, but was wonderin if anyone else noticed these things.

The noise, from what i can gather is relative to the dirtbike motor. Have you ever heard a CRF? REAL clanky. Keep ridin it and see if the hesitation goes away. I know when i got mine, it was acting up in the beginning (cutting out) but seemed to fix itself after a few hours on the motor.

Check n see if ur chain is tight cuz might wasnt n that makes noise

i picked up minr today and i hear a little noise when i gas it. its the heat sheild on the exhaust, at leaste thats what the noise on mine is.

My motor makes a lot of noise too. This motor is very close to the CRF bike and the CRF motor is quite noisy too. I wouldnt worry too much about it....

The hesitation on the carb is just how the FCR is, once you re-jet and get an exhaust....should help the problem....

I had those same problems. The noise is normal. The hesitation should go away. Mine was from an over oiled air filter.

Thanks for the imput, i'll check that stuff out tonight. Redracer you mentioned exhaust what do you recomend for the 450r?? Im pretty new to the sport bike world was into the 4x4 deals. Or for that matter what does anyone recomend for exhaust I plan on getting the HRC kit but i belive i will still get a full exhaust.

just picked mine up today.Yeah I have that noise too,sounds like a huffing noise.Seems to have more snap bone stock than my 04 does with hrc,hmf,k&n and 13 tooth front sprocket.I'm not worried about the engine noise cause I had an 03Cannondale before I bought my first 450r.Now that was motor noise.

I had a crf 450r sounded like the rod was going to come out the side, was normal, do not worry . very thin castings. here everything.:D :D :D :muscle:

The hesistation will go away once you rejet it and give it some air to breath. I put a HRC end cap on my 06, and put a 175 main jet in it and turned the air screw out 2.5 turns. It runs awesome:macho
