Spiting and Sputtering

Hey ya`ll my lil bros 250 recon 2002 model once you get it top out for a while it starts Spiting and Sputtering? does neone know why ne help I would appreciate.... thankz again u guys.....

rev limitter, if you messed around with the jetting if you got a pipe or something it could be the jetting is too rich. But most likely its the rev limitter.
