Hey people I know to some this will sound like something stupid ,but my neighbor just bought a new 250ex and I got my first ride on it well got to drive it. I have never rode a sport quad before so I am pretty amazed at how much power its got. i like take off and stuff.. I even pulled a huge wheely when he was`nt watching. I say the top of the machine is about 54-55 because my bro got a 250 recon 2002 model and it seems that the rev limiter hold it back alot more than the 250ex.....:D ..... does neone know true the top speed of the machine dont tell me 47 or some crap...b/c I rode one.. I also noticed on the back of the STOCK pipe on it, it said honda spark arrester whats that mean? well thankz for the replys which I hope I get since its about a 250ex.... later super-man

It probably tops out around 50-52, Honda spark arrester is just that, a spark arrester made by Honda. A spark arrester as far as I know, makes it to where flames won't shoot out of your pipe from bad jetting, which could lite fires.

Yea I agree with 46-48 mph but not no 54-50 because a stock 300ex only does that and its got a cc advantage not to mention a more high performance motor and more compression there only bout a 20 pound weight diff. bigger carb manual clutch and chain driven so no your 250ex will not go 54-55

Well its not 55 but mine will top out at 50-51. I know this b/c I raced a Rancher with a speedo and I took the lead both times but he slowly inched by me and he was runnin 53. I have yet to try it without the airbox lid. I think the air flow is a little restrictive with it on. I have it off right now (i put it on when I hit the trails) and it feels like it has a little more low end power for wheelies and stuff but it makes it run a little rich b/c I can run in high rpm and let off quickly and it wants to let out little backfire but no prob. Anyways im just ramblin.
If you think the 250 has take off and power then you should get on a 400. You wont even think bout a 250 again. Trust me.
