any1 with 4-strokes

stupid question but anyone ever blown the top end on a 4-stroke

cuz lik my friends hold rev limiter lik the whole time on the track nd lik if u do that wit a 2-stroke the top end will blo and my friend said its almost impossible 2 do with a 4-stroke

If he's holding it aganist the rev limiter all the time its definitly possible to blow it up and cause alot of other things to happen. It might take a little while for it to happen but it will definitly cause to wear out faster. You also increase the risk of bending valves.

i havent blown my motor up but my brother has 2 in the last year. he has a crf250

It seems more likley for a valve to bend or somthing than the top end to blow.

speeking of top ends blowing. lol, everyone says that 2 strokes eat through them. well I had this 1989 cr 80 (honda). my dad told me that when it blew up we could put a bore kit in it or somthing. so I tried DESPRETLY to blow this thing. I would stud the tires for the lake in the winter, I would hold it wide open for nearly 2 minutes. then I would mix it to 60:1 all the time. I would never let it warm up before reving the crap out of it. I beat the snot out of this thing. when I got it the clutch was showing signs of being bad, 3 years later it dident get any worse. one time I changed the gear lube, it was NASTY!.

this thing was fast too. I kept up in a drag just fine with a new yz 80 or 85 I forget. it would die for no reason time to time, just let it sit for a minute and it would fire rate back up.

the one time I thot I had finally blew this damn thing up, nope just a fowled spark plug!!! ahh, I sold it for 400$ about 1 year ago, wonder how it is holding up now a days?? lol just a funny story..

Holding the rev limiter....hmm sounds like my brother, that idiot runs the piss out of his kfx hardly ever leaves second except on the flats. LoL i tell him to knock it to third before the edge of the hill and pin it but he just saying i'm a ****ing idiot and don't know ****. but w/e it's his engine.
