problem

I changed my oil the other day and the back screw on the oil filter cover stripped out. I'm wondering if there a kit for that or anybody else who's done that who could help me out.

Uhh..i dont think there is a kit. what i would do is try to tap new threads in or maybe u just stripped the outter threads and u could just get a bolt that is a tad bit longer and maybe it will grip? try that.

2 easy methods.

1: it should have a good ridge on it where te bolt snapped, take a flat head screw driver and a hammer and try to turn the screw out.

2: drill a hole in it and get an "easy out" (at any local hardware store) and put it in the hole and turn it out with a crecent wrench.

the bolt just stripped the threads out, the bolts out of the hole arlready. I just need a way to get a new on in there, would a helicoil work?? I'm not to sure about tapping them bigger because I'm not totally for sure on how much space there is inbetween the hole and outside. just want to find the best way before I screw it up
