440 or 416

hey guys, i was wondering i need to make my 400 a little faster witch would be beter for my rideing style i ride alot of woods but alot of blacktop and everyone runs off and leave me on blacktop, also how much would these kits run me to have em done right.

id say get a 426 sleeved 12:1 comp with a hotcam 2 pipe and rejet u should get good results

there are a lot of factors to consider, longevity, race fuel or pump, etc... if you do not race, i would not go any over an 11:1 piston so that you can use pump gas. as for how big to go, im a fan of the bigger the better for the most part, and i have a friend who has had great success with an 440. for the 440, you have to get a new sleeve, but that is not a bi deal and i believe he spent under 500 for an cam, piston, sleeve, gaskets, sleeve install, and whatever else. he did the porting and romoved the choke plate himself. you can pm him for more info: slamdak8782
