400ex oil

Is Royal Purple oil any good in my 400ex? If not what is a good oil brand to use?

I use honda gn4 oil. Oil in a ex is for engine and trans. I figure even if i ran cheap oil I would only save a few bucks per year so why do it. I change my oil 4-6 times per year.

i run rotella. it is cheap oil, but supposed to be the best. went to an oil clinic for work and rotella came out on top for every test they performed.
never tried royal purple, so as long as it does not contain friction modifiers it should be fine.

Royal purple is BAD for and EX. Its a synthetic car oil so it will have friction modifiers. Only use a synthetic that is designed for wet-clutch systems.

hmmmmmmmmmm.... i didnt know any better and put a synthetic oil in and it seems to work fine... atleast for now... im gonna go change my oil now though... lol, right now.... with 4stroke stuff i picked up at the honda dealership

use the stuff from honda it works better
