i hav a 03 400ex with hot cam stage 1 and k & n filter and the lid is on, and it wont cold start at all unless i pull start it. what should i change my jets to cause they are stock now? it runs good after it is warmed up. thanks for any help

i would put in a 42 pilot jet. when starting the bike, try pumping the throttle lever a few times and then just hitting the start button without hitting the throttle anymore. if you do, you will flood the bike. in the cold mine always started better using the choke on full. others have better luck not using the choke.

ya i did try pumping the throttle cause thats what it took to get it going until now. mine will not start with the choke on but will run on choke after its started and its been like that since i bought it new. ill try putting in a 42 pilot jet. thanks for the help

you may need to mess with the a/f screw. did you buy it brand new?it kinda sounds like you may need to clean your carb up
