I know some of you jacklegs are into Mountain bikes. Post up some bike pics.

I just got into it and can't get enough ride time in and to be honest it's taken over the #1 spot on my hobby list.

I bought a 2005 Trek 4300 Disk Brake Edition

I"ve put on a new seat, computer, spider grips, shimano clipless pedals, new Rear tire and lots of scratches since I took the pic. The pic was taken the day I brought it home before it's first ride. I ride it like a crazed lunatic and usually wreck on every ride...:o Jeff at the quadshop rides with me a lot and can vouch for the wrecks. I"m actually getting a new Crank put in tomorrow because I"ve trashed a crank arm already. Log crossings, uphills, switchbacks, rocks, etc, etc are getting easier and easier every ride. One of the toughest trails within 100+ miles of my house is only 10 minutes away so I ride and train there a lot. Not for any girly men I garauntee you that. I have a big list of things to get but like ATV's it's not a cheap sport either..

By the way, Full suspension bikes are for sissy's......:D Hardtails rule...:macho

i currently have a shwinn mesa le. But have been looking into a new bike. If your ride alot of tough trails how come you didnt go for the full suspension?

You must have missed my comment about FS and sissy's.....:o

Actually I couldn't afford a good $1,000+ full suspension bike. In all honesty I think I"ll be a better rider on the HT in the long run. There's only certain times when I wish I had a FS bike, but 98% of the time I'm glad I have a HT. I don't do any big jumps or drops but mainly just XC riding to it's fullest.

Rico we damn near have the same bike... I'm riding a Trek 4500.

I bought this last year and its treated me pretty good... I dont get out nearly as much as I would like to, but enough to stay in shape - just a little bit. :D

I have a wal mart mountain bike that has about 500 miles on it i rode it everywhere, then i got the quad so it got put in the shed, then i bought a DK Cincinnati for riding in town, i love this thing.:)

I started off with a Specialized rockhopper, then graduated to a Specialized Enduro FSR with Discs. I love the bike, but since my riding interests have changed from XC to Freeride I want either a Rocky Mountain or Kona next. The Enduro does me fine, but it's a little too light for freeride.

I must say it is a shame that I own this bike. I like the idea and love the sport but don't have the time and don't like the pain it takes to get good. So I have this fs devinchi for walking the dog.
I do try to huck a trick or two but there pretty lame and I end up leaking red fluid from my body more often than not.

I have a Trek Stp 300, It has everything you could imagine. About $6,000 in it including the bike. I'll get some pics soon. I also have a Trek Y-Glide.

all ive got to say is props to the whole lot of you. if you actually rock out down trails and huck yourselfs off something higher than i can jump, youre braver than me! hell, if u go through the woods on one ur braver than me! i ride BMX, lots of flatland and some pretty stupid street stuff but im just not into launching myself off a rock onto a dirt hill that goes straight down for another 50 ft. but 20 sets are a different story:devil:

I have a garry fishire marlin, try to ride it as least as I can. because I want to keep it nice and tend to smash EVERYTHING I get my hands on.

not a mounain bike but I also have a volume mid bmx bike that I ride, but it is broken/smashed because I use it.

Are you kidding? Are you listening to yourself? Mountain Biking is for sissys. :blah:

I did it many years ago, like when suspension was just being developed. Front shocks were only available on bikes starting at $1500, and full suspension was unheard of.

Of course, I didn't have $1500, I was full-on rigid frame. I put hours upon hours on my bike, but never really had the desire to revisit it since then.

Wilkins I have read alot of ur threads before, and usually they sound meaningful and educated replies. However this one just sounded dumb like someone else wrote it. Sorry to say, but if your such a tough guy, then id like to see what you can do on a mountain bike that makes this such a ***** sport.

You cant just hop on a bike, and scale down a hill or rocks like u see on the pictures. Just like you cant hop on a 450r and race MX series. It takes skill, talent, and practise. As well as physicly demanding procedures to do what your supost to do with a mountain bike. They not made to be use to walk your dog with... Just like a 450r isnt used to go get the mail everyday from ur mailbox.

I dont see any *****'s using there mountain bikes what they are really made for, doing the things they do like in the recent picture above this post. Use ur head, no *****'s are going to be doing that, so how is it possibly a ***** sport.

This thread might sound a lil odd, cause my eyes are closing infront of me cause im so tired, but im just trying to understant how its a ***** sport'.

i used to be into biking. rode about 10 miles a day. now i hardly ever ride. i started on a good ol huffy. then i got a much better full suspended bike, not sure what brand. was a great bike if the suspension held up. broke two rear shocks and snapped a pair of forks in half. Then i got into BMX, started on a mongoose and am now riding a razor 180 dirtjumper. great bike for the price.

Well it looks like later this week I"m picking up a Manitou Black Super Air front fork with Adjustable Comp, Rebound, lockout and Travel hieght.....:D AVID BB7 front rotor and caliper will be the next purchase after that.

The full suspension comment was made out of jealousy. I really wanted a full supsension bike but was finding decent used ones for $900....:huh Popo's bike is POS I seen it this weekend.

what??! are you crazy?! a 20 set to flat is just nuts!!! naah at the bottom of them there is a sidewalk and another small set that goes down a hill next to it, on each side there is about 15 ft of concrete and we bunny hop the 20 set (just a guess give or take 3 or so) and hit the concrete beside the next set, ive only made it 3 out of like a million hits

To Rico, when your listing your stuff you added, what is a computer on a mountain bike?

My friend has a roadmaster mountain bike, like 65 bucks from walmart. He has so many miles, easily 1,000 miles, not kidding. He never "skids" on the back tire and the threads are coming apart, its crazy.

I have a Tee time at 7:30 sunday morning for a round of golf...:o LMFAO I"ve actually been a golfer longer than a quad rider, I started when I was 14..

I have a baby seat thingy that mounts on the back but I'm gonna brake down and get one of them pull behind thingy's to put my cooler in.....:D

I just got back from a 6 mile ride at lunch. I adjusted my front braks before I went, came into a turn to fast, grabbed all the brakes like a mad man and went over the bars. My keys jabbed into my leg which made a cool abraision...
