I just got mine done by Dee at Rage ATV.....It pulls like a tractor! 11.5:1 piston...stock valves and rev box. 49.8hp at 35.4lbs torque. I was pulling crfs on the holeshot this weekend. I get to run pump gas too. Although I ran a mix of 93 and 110. It will last longer too.

You have to tell him you want the new one though. He has only done 2 so far. I got the second one. It shoudl get about 52hp once it is broken in good. I will be dynoing it again in about a month at his race in houston.

Also forgot TC, but DASA seems to be building some impressive engines, and you can't go wrong with Baldwin...

Joe at Rossier does IMPRESSIVE work with the 450r's, i think u cant go wrong with any of them except baldwin, had some bad experience with them. :(

I can't say which one is best because I don't have motors built from all of them but Mark Baldwin did my motor and I'm very happy with it. Runs great, no problems and very good tech support.

John Ziehl, Vicious cycle performance. My motor guy.

I cant speak for any of them because i dont race mx or xc I drag race in the sand and I have 1 part from about each of those builders except from the Jon guy never used his stuff. All I can say is look at who is building winning motors and I know it has to do with the rider too. I think you wont go wrong with any of the 4. if it were me I would not look past the 4 you have.

Dasa made me one hell of a nasty 550cc stroker motor for my 450r.

Talk about power, this thing makes more power at 4500 rpm than most built motors make at their peak, and thats just the beginning of the power band!

Dan Lamey knows his stuff, just look at Joe Byrds holeshots every race.

where's my name in that poll? LOL!!

I pick DASA!

DASA by far, that man can build a helluva 450r motor.

how much did it cost?
how reliable is the motor?

actually, it sounds like he didn't do much at all.
i can put in a 11.5:1 piston myself.........but i don't think that would create 49.8hp. i'm not being harsh, just really curious.

49 seems steep :)
I have a 13.1, sparks cam and porting and only ran 45. Has to be more done to that motor. You have a dyno sheet? That maybe flywheel.

i'll tell you in a few weeks...my motor went to dasa yesterday for THE WORKS...everything he has to offer

Dee ported the head and put in his cam. piston is wiseco 11.5:1 cuz they were out of the 13:1 he usually uses. Which was fine with me because I knew he used the 11.5:1 in the other one he did.

I dont ride on the top of the rev box so it is till the stock box. I dont need to with torque like that. That is why I wanted him to do it when I found out about it.

Dee's dyno is a 2005 dynojet and it is only a couple months old. He built this low compression motor with lots of torque. Exact numbers are 49.6hp and 35.8lbs torque. His port job and cam. Stock valves, flywheel, carb. Running 93 and 112 mix.

He will back it up with dyno while you are standing there if you are interested. I am probably going to upgrade to a 13:1 piston as soon as he gets them in and bump up to about 52hp and 37.5lbs torque.

Call him for a full price. www.rageatv.com He said he would answer any questions you have and give you a dyno with the work.

I am telling you this thing pulls everyone out of the corners.

You dont have a copy of the dyno sheet??
That is a good set of numbers!

how about JH, not a "engine builder" but he does good work. Or you could do it yourself and get some skin in your quad :)

sparks is a bucnh of crap.

They told me i would have my motor back in 6 weeks TOPS....it took them 8 MONTHS!!! Everytime I called they would say "yes, we are starting on that motor today"...

I spent thousands of dollars on my motor..on the second race on my motor, comes to find out they never put in a clip to hold the piston pin. So my motor was trashed.....I was all the way in Florida at the GNC (i live in IL)...

I also orderd an exhaust once and it took them forver to get it to me...I personally hate the company and try to warn people to stay away from them unless your a national pro rider...

I have had nothing but good experiances with Sparks, everytime I talked to him he was nice and gave me some advice. I have bought exaust, timing keys, and air filters. I wouldnt trust anyone to build my motor other than me. That way I know I did it right, and clips and torque specs dont get left out.

I guess maybe its me, i mean i cat put bigger valves in, but you can sure have dasa or any good company do proting and overiszed valves, but you can easyly assemble the motor yourself. Personaly I would much rather assemble my motor myself, or as much as I can, that way if it does brake, no one to blame it on but myself, and I know that I put the sirclip on the piston, and loctice on the cam sprocket bolts. I put 13:1 and stage 2 cam in mine, was pretty easy, I could have done it without the manual, all though I wouldnt recomend it, I did refer to it for torque specs, and its nice to have incase you have a question.

Out of those choices, I would say DASA, but between what I have run, Nmotion does a superior job. As of right now I have both a Sparks and Nmotion built engine, and as said, between the two I find that the Nmotion has a better quality of work... not that Sparks isn't great, too, but just doesn't seem to have quite the detail.
