I'm building a 310 w/low-mid port and need to start thinking about a carb. This is going to be a play quad and will only see the track and occationally a sand dune. I'd be interested in hearing some of your opinions on these two carbs.

from my understanding the 38pwk A/S is a top end high RPM carb, and you said youre building a low end bike... sounds like it doesnt match too well, but the 38 would be great for dunes...

I like to run Keihin because I have all the jets that I need for them already and I don't want to start all over. The Mikuni carbs work great but I don't know much about them. I used to run a Keihin 39mm PWK and it had good bottom end and great mid-top. Now I run a Keihin 40.5 PWK on my 250r.

i have the mikuni tmx38 carb and its great. it has real good midrange response although i have herd the keihin is easier to jet etc not that ive had problems with the tmx. if you can get a good deal on one go for it. my 2 cents..

39 PWK should be perfect like Beerock said.. I run one of those on my 265 PV, and it works great all around.
