If you ride in the woods or rocky trails or stuff like that get some 22" but if your going for the overall looks get some 20" thei look better then 22" but you losse ground clearence

well I do race in the woods but I would rather have perfomance and suspension and ground clearance than looks but I would first like to see pics and what people think about them thanks for your input and do you have 22's

When mine arrive next week i will send a pic. I've seen pics on-line on websites and it does look a little odd. It is a noticable difference if you're use to looking at one with 20"'s. Looks kind'a like "Minnie Me". I just can't use the 20's because it's really rocky here and I could use the clearance.

if you don't like the looks of the 22s just get 20s and some really thick skid plates. You should be fine then. I personally prefer 20s but its ur choice.

I just put 22's on my 400 ex with a +4 and I think they look awesome. They are RAZR 2's so they give me lots of ground clearance. I will take a picture and post it for you.

'03, are you running 7's or 8's on the front and is there a huge difference in front end handling with either?

Well that is not my RED ex in the picture.... I just was asking the same info, if I should go with 22's.

The take off seems a bit slower, but then again, I got some razr 2's v/s the old turf tamers that were on there, and it feels like it digs and goes without spinning much better.

Not sure what size front that red ex has? I have 8's on my front, and 9's on the rear...

I run 22's in the woods, with either stock gearing, or drop a tooth in the front. Depending on where we go ride. Ive got 6ply razrs on now but I think I want to try the Kendas formy next set.

alright guys I think ya'll have convinced me I just don't know which ones to get

22-11-8 rear Kenda klaw xc mounted on 8 inch 190. douglas red labelwheels with chrome valve stems and pj tire sealant = $167.00

22-11-9 rear Maxxis razr 2's mounted on 9 inch 190. douglas red label wheels with chrome valve stems and pj tire sealant = $253.00

I know the kendas are cheaper but are the maxxis that much better than the kendas as far as wear and tear and performance in xc racing

Thats me. I bought my quad used and it came with a set of 22" Holeshots and a set of Douglas wheels. The previous owner never got them mounted. I mounted them myself and rode 1 day and didnt like the size so I took them off.

I'll sell the tires 1/2 price of new if you want them. front and rear

If your're going to get wheels I'd suggest getting douglas ultimate's with a rolled edge. they're a little bit more expensive but will last a lot longer than red labels. Also another opinion on the tires, I've been racing for about 7 years and I've always used 20" tires and never had a problem with ground clearance except in really muddy races but then who doesn't?

I have 22 in. holeshots im runnin a 13 tooth front and stock rear. I would not get the red labels I had those for a bout a year and they were destroyed from the rocks at some of the places i ride. I would go with baja's or a rolled lip like someone else suggested.
As far as your question about razr 2's or klaws my friend has a set of each he said they klaws are good tires but if its muddy they dont compare to his razr 2's.
