I raz'r are pretty much for mud but if I were you I would get all 6-ply tires

front---- razr' 2's
rear----- kenda klaws xc
the good thing about the kendas are that they can be turn aroud wether your riding hard or loose pack

i should have mentioned this before

i ride on hard pack, dirt roads, trails, and occasionally on a mx track

i hear the razrs wear out kinda fast and dont hook when you want them too

i need a tire that has good wheel spin for mx as you know, im not into hill climbing and mudd'n and that kind of stuff

I'm very happy with my knarlys for trails. Not sure how they would do for mx but they slide very predictably and I can spin the tires almost any time I like. They hook up well on hard pack also. I've only had them on a track once but I didn't have any complaints. So far they seem to wear very well. Also the price is hard to beat. I haven't tried razr's so I really can't compare them though.

If you buy a tire and wheel combo they mount them for free they are a pleasure to deal with

Go to discount tire, you can get Shredder's, which are a very good tire, for right at 100 bux a set. That includes mounting your new tires for you. Shredder's are very similar to the Maxxis Razor's or Holeshot's, but they have better wear characteristics. I have run them from everything including desert and sand, to woods with mud and wet leaves on the trail. They have great traction and are very flat resistant. Most people have not heard of them in a while because they don't sponsor anyone in racing, they are owned by the same company that owns Maxxis, so that is where the sponsor money goes.

I have a set of 20" holeshot hd's for sale and they are awesome. Only ridden them a couple of times. They are mint! I do all trail and logging road riding and they work great. Wicked hook-up. I'm going to 22's because I bump the swingarm constantly and need the clearance. I'll make you a deal on them, or anyone else. I have the stock rubber on the front and the bike pushes real bad because of the HD's. I'll be replacing the fronts too.

whadda ya mean by pushing?
also, if you get 22's on the rear, would you change your front or rear sprocket size?

I mean there is a huge traction difference with the rear tires being so good and the fronts total junk. It's mostly noticable in the tight trails where it is really wet. It's been raining here over a week now so everything is slick. Even when I'm not jumping on the throttle, it pushes bad(Understeer). Yes, I have a 14 tooth sprocket coming by monday for the front. Not sure if I will need a 13. I don't want to lose my topend as there are long runs on the trails I ride where I can easily clip 60+. The access trail from the house rises over 1500 verticle feet and is hairy even on a 4wd. The 400ex blasted right up through it with no problem though it's tough to steer when the front end isn't on the ground. LOL

Shipping is around 35 to 40$. I would take $130 including shipping and I'll eat the rest. I've gotta sell them as I won't use them and I need the money.

Does no-one like or use the stock tires after the first set is gone? This is my first quad and don't really have anything to compare to but we went riding last Sunday and I thought the stock tires went great. I had much better luck on roots than my buddy with his HoleShots. The only thing I would like is a little more rear ground clearance. Was thinking of maybe a set of 22's when the stockers wear out with a 14T front sprocket. I was looking at the Knarlys and Maxxis All Trak for the 22's. Any thoughts? Sorry to post on such an old thread but I'm a newbie here looking for info.

ITP holeshots. believe it or not, i have 600 plus miles of hard core trail riding, and riding on the roads in tughill up state NY. i still have 3/4 tread on the front tires, and 1/2 tread on the rear tires. i run 3 psi in the rear tires 4 psi in the front. 6ply rear 4ply frt tires. check them out they have great traction and they handle very well. and last a long time.

I went down to Ronnie's recently and got to see the different tires in person. The hd's are a great tire and use a much softer compound than the Razor 2's. For terrain that has smooth rock surfaces they are awesome and for anything loose. The razor 2's would be better for sharper rocks, like what I have around here and would be more durable. The 2's are what most people run around where I live because of the terrain. The side blocks of tread are more protective and aggressive than the HD's as well. The Razor 2's are just a ferocious tire. And substantially cheaper than a new set of HD's. I would think that either of these tires would not slide as well as a stock "type" tire either. Also, the Hd's don't come in 22's. The razors do. I guess it depends where you spend most of your time. These two tires may be overkill if you spend most of your time on roads etc. I can tell you from experience that if you run either of these tires on the rear, the factory fronts won't cut it. The hook-up is wicked with the HD's or 2's.
