Anyone know of a place to re-build the rear shock on my 03 400ex? I have elka's and +3 jd's on the front but the back sucks. A new elka cost way too much and I dont need much I'm just a heavy guy (270lbs) Oh by the way I was wondering anywhere in San diego County. THANKS

I second the TCS rebuild. I love mine.......I have NO need to buy a new shock......this one is awesome. They do great work!

You need a different rear spring to make your shock correctly. I would also recommend the GT Thunder linkage and revalve for your quads rearend problem too! This will fix everything for sure.

there's many places who do this. I've heard nothing but excellent thing from gt thunder rebuild with their linkage. I'm not for sure if it's better or worse than the TCS rebuild.

you should get a linkage from GT thunder and get them to revalve you rear shock for your linkage this will make your quad lower while giving you more ground clearance

Talk with Bob at www.fcrsuspension.com He will make that thing better than a new elka, it will be just for you exactly how you want it.

Daryl Rath does some nice PEP rear conversions $300-400. Nothing wrong with TCS either. My old 400ex had a TCS rear that was good but I've also ridden on some of Daryl's rear conversions and they are silky smooth due to the PEP specs and components.

the GT thunder links doesn't give you more ground clearance, it gives you less. The link is lower than stock(closer to the ground)
