400EX Swingarm Breakage; I must be lucky

There is no doubt that a lot of people on these forums have broken stock 400EX swingarms. I took a gamble back in February and tried a stock EX arm on my 250R. After 4 months of riding, it still hasn't cracked. On the other hand, my stock '86 250R arm cracked three or four times, and I'm jumping higher now than before. My suggestion would be to hold on to your stock arm until it breaks, becuase some of them survive.

The picture below is my doing a 53' double. My wheels are probably 7' off the ground. Still no crack or breaks, for what its worth :)

i have the stock swinger on my 400ex, and i just constantly, the biggest being: about 65 feet in length, 9 to 10 feet in height, and landing on FLAT GROUND.


so i think i've decided the same thing, i'll wait till mine breaks, before i shell out 500 bucks.
