I have a 250r that has had some engine work and i am looking for a new pipe. The engine has been bored 0.040 over and has had the head and jug plained, been ported, has boysene carbon fiber reeds, and a filter and jet kit. I use an older cobra pipe that has always worked great. I was wondering if there is a pipe that is designed with modified engines in mind and if anyone has used them.

thx

Um yes, and yes. Almost any aftermarket pipe is designed for that. What do you use your quad for? Drags, MX, Sand??? Answer this and we can probably give you a better selection.

I use it mostly just trail riding, and the pipe i have now is a mid - top end pipe that does work really well but it is worn out. I would like a pipe that does about the same and that may even increase the power a bit more. I was looking at the LRD VPR Pipe/Silencer, the ESR TRX5 Pipe and ESR O-Ringed Silencer, or the FMF Rev pipe and a silencer (undecide on an FMF silencer).

Thx again

How does a pipe get "worn out"?

well actually due to the way the pipe was mounted directly to the frame the coupling have all worn a bit because of vibrations from pounding the bike and engine vibration and exhaust is begining to leak out quite heavily. i have tried to fix it with exhaust repair kits and packing but it never lasts.
