400ex short rod stroker

i need to put a new rod in my 400ex and wanted to gain some horse power with a stroker motor. i dont want the motor to rev slower so i dont want a long rod stroker. so i was wondering if any one has built a short rod stroker for a 400ex. i have seen a 450r with a short rod and that thing flies. and to keep with a stock bore if possible if it isnt thats ok. if some one has built this i would like to know how they did it or where they got it done.

A short rod setup will usually rev slower than an otherwise equal long rod motor - mostly because of the more severe rod angle and piston side loading. A long rod 400 would rev quicker - but that would require a shorter pin height on the custom piston. The 450R probably ran so well because of the motor work.

it will still rev slower even with the shorter rode because stroke is still increased
