Can someone tell me if this is just a snap on piece or if it gets bolted on somehow. If anybody has a top view photo of this, that would be nice too.

Yikes, just noticed you said 2005.
From the factory on 1999-2004, there is one bolt that screws it onto a tab on the factory bars.
After your first day of riding and the factory bars are bent, you will not find a replacement set of bars with the tab. But not to worry, it stays securely snaps onto aftermarket 7/8" bars.
I am not sure about 1 1/8" bars though nor have I looked at it on a 2005.

Meh...
Just ditchit. I saw on here, someone did a sweet hood install of the key switch and the neutral/reverse light.
I have mine down in the hood mounted to the crossbar, but im planning on relocating to the hood pretty soon.
I went through the same deal when I ditched the stock bars.
Mine arent bent though, so If you need some straight ones I have a set.

ya once that one screw comes outta its spot on that ****ty plastic peice your screwed but i jus got new handle bars and made my own new ignition box outta this light wieght tin stuff that pretty strong and i painted it jus sliped the handle bar bolts threw holes that i drilled and toda:D

Is the tab welded to the bars or handlebar clamp or ????

the ignition and light setup is probably the only complaint i have for the 05, the damn thing came loose the 2nd day i had it, along with the stupid tool kit that fell out.. oh well cant complain it hasnt blown up yet
