interchangeable calipers?

I am searching for some replacement front brake calipers for my '87 250X. I noticed that someone has some calipers listed on Ebay claiming that they will bolt right on to a 400ex, 300ex, banshee, warrior, or yfz450. Is this true? Are all of these calipers interchangeable? :confused:

in a pinch i had to install 300ex calipers on a 400ex an hour before a gncc race. i had to use the caliper mounts from the 300ex for the mount but it worked, and i believe he is still running the calipers today:p but usually no, calipers are not a direct bolt on or swap

i jsut replaced my entrie front brake system on ym 87 250x with all 2000 and hgiher 300ex parts and they bolt right up but i dont know about any of the others u lsited (especially the yamahas, 400ex mgiht work, dont kno tho)

The 250x's and 300ex's have an identical chassis, and near identical motor, so of course those would bolt right up. I know 400ex, and 450r calipers can go on 250r's, but the spindles, and any mounting brakets have to be replaced to match the calipers.

i know for a fact the mount for the back brakes is different for the 250r and the 400ex.. trust me i wrestled with the thing forever when i bought a used swingarm and carrier off ebay for a 400ex and the mount was for a 250r and i tried for hours to get the 400ex caliper to line up on there. lol. however i may put 250r brakes on the back cuz i believe they have the 2 cylinders vice the single cylinder that the 400ex has.
