Anyone know of the best place to buy a new or used set of 250r center cases. Cal-Atv has the 85-86 complete with bearings for 262.00 a pc. Can anyone beat this price??

Says you cant get the black 88 style any longer. I was for certain that the 88 cases were still available.

Anyone know for sure??

i dont think the 88 comes with bearings in it the 86 does, cal atv may install the bearings in it.

If you get the 86 cases be sure to buy the 89 main bearings, they have one more ball in them then the 86 main bearings

I may be selling my 88 motor if my quad sells. its has brand new case halves and has been sitting on the shelf in a plastic tub for 3 years. I didnt like the top end porting for woods so i put my 86 motor in my 88 quad.

atv dude, how much for the 88 motor?

I let my brother ride my 1 month old 88 today and he wrapped the chain around the case and put a big hole in it. I was going to go like mad around the forums/ebay wherever to try to find center cases, but a whole motor would be better.

Note to others: need good 88 cases. If I can't find them, the only way to get my money back out will be to part it which I hate the idea of, but the cost could be more than it's worth.

Expensive lesson: don't let others ride your R

I don't know about the 89 bearings having the extra ball, you may be right though. I've always run bearings from a CR, I know they are the eight ball style.
