I've got a 300ex and the plastics are shot. I've been looking online some of the maier and full bore plastics don't look too bad, but many other aftermarket and factory fenders for other models look much better, and their also often cheaper.
I know that the 250x and 300ex plastic's are the same, but are there any other fenders that can be slightly modified to fit the 300ex?, like maybe the 400ex fenders? Has anyone ever tried to fit other fenders on to see what needs to be done? Any pics? I'm also aware of different hoods being modified to fit but i'm in need of all of the plastics.

You can mod 400ex or 250r plastics but they don't fit the greatest IMO. The maier and fullbores will look much better. I have the fullbore fronts and they fit nicely even with stock rear plastics. The maier fit well also and they are much cheaper than the fullbore.
With 400ex plastic the hole for the fuel shutoff doesn't line up and I think you have to mod the front mounts for the rear plastic. Also the seat doesn't fit very well with 400 plastic. It can be done though.

i don't mind fabing something up to make some 400 fenders work, my plastic's are so shot that nothing lines up anyway, they're all stitched up and ready for the garbage. i'm just looking for a budget alternative.

Just buy some plastics that are made for your quad, and do a little modding to them.

Here's the only pic I have before I cut my fenders.

that's a great looking 300, the white looks really good.

I just can't justify spending over $300 for stock style or the maier race fenders when i don't really like the look of the race fenders, and forget about fullbore and the laker's, they're way too expensive for what they are. I did some searching and found some threads with the 400ex conversion. I'm definately going to do it.

400ex plastic will fit but u will have to make your own brakets and might have to drill a cupple holes in the plastic to put the mounting brakets. u can hook up the 400ex lights on it to. at least thats what dirt wheels sid.

My 250r front fit fine, the right rear bolt hole lined right up. The stock 300ex front mount, I bent it out a little bit then it lined up perfect. The only mount point that gave me a problem was the left rear, and I just zip tied it. I also had to drill a hole about the size of a AA battery, and then screw on the petcock adj.
