is it safe to take your air box lid off and ride it like that. for a lil bit. cause it gives it more power u can feel it.
will it mess up the engine?

sure, it's safe, but to protect yourself the best, you should get an outerwears filter cover. they're only about $10 from www.rockymountainatv.com and well worth the money. if you haven't re-jetted your carb, you will likely have to jet up or you will run lean. of course, an aftermarket silencer mixed with rejetting and the lid off will give you better power, rather than just taking your lid off.

You can use grannies old pantyhose . REAL CHEAP , just stretch it over the opening .
