View Full Version : Mideast rider signs contract with Yamaha
That's right, after 8 hrs of negotiating Yamaha reconised my PR work and offered me a 4 year contract. I can't disclose the trems of it, but it is 6 figures over 4 years. This is the quad i got and they said I could get a Bill Ballance Edition also if I signed on for a couple more years.... :D
Photo ops will be at Fallston. So be at the next Mideast event for your first glimpse of Gump on a 2006 YFZ450...
I had alot of risistance from the Robinsonmotors race team as far as going with Yamaha, but we crunched the numbers and got it where everyone was satisfied...
I know yall are saying how's a slow old man like that get a contract ?? Well technically it is a 4 yr deal, and it is worth 6 figures, if you count all the numbers.. :D

you know i'll be there. i've missed 2 races this year, rockhouse due to injury and PV due to work, but i am finishing the season on the new beast !!!!! and run that k bar winter series if they have it. if work allows..

good looking bike gump. wish i had your money.im gonna stay on my 250r instead of a 450.gonna put a little money in it.310 kit some new shocks and stuff. would like some info on that other series you were talking about.

Man I would luv to go too Brushy Sunday but I gotta dinner at mom's scheduled:o ...That is a aweasom place to ride,they might have the new MX track done to..:)I've only been there once,it's a great place to get some practice in for racing...

Sure is you gotta go try it out,you won't be disapointed...It cost 20$ per day but we'll worth it.They got nice bathrooms, hot shower's and a small snack shack....The trails are wide and smoothe you can ride in 3rd thru 5th gear all day....:cool:

In my opinion Brushy is the best place around here right now without having to drive to west Va. Brown mtn has gotten to rocky, Uwharrie has ALWAYS been rocky, and NCMP is pretty far for me. :) Go check out Brushy if you haven't already. You'll like it.

Hot diggity Dog.......I don't have to work Sunday:D I might just have to go! If Mikey does not go, is it to rough for a newbie? My 17 year old sister wants to ride. I will have to take her because I can remember how bad I wanted to ride but I didn't have a quad unless I was riding b****. Well never mind you can't be a minor and ride over there. That's 3 hours from here:eek2: . We will have to figure something out.
Do ya'll know anyone that would let me test ride their 350 Raptor or know of a dealership that has a test track?

traded my Z and signed a loan for the rest. so let me tell you how this went down.
11 am go to the yamaha place in hickory to show my Z, they want $7900 out the door and offered $5250 and my Z
12 pm go to the honda place in hickory and they offer my Z and $4550 for an 06 r.
12:30 pm go back to the yamaha dealer and tell them what honda can do. they go down to $5000 and my Z out the door. i really liked the yfz due to it's low ride height and feel and my bro is with me telling me yamaha..
1 pm they ride my Z then tell me my axle bearings are bad, which i just put in 3 months ago and my clutch cable is bad and it will cost them $260 to fix and i have to split the cost, so now it's $5130 out the door.
1:30 pm cell phone rings it's mandy from the honda dealer, did i mention she' hot ? giving me heck for going back to yamaha and wanting to know what she could do to get my business. i said get me a yamaha..
2 pm cell phone rings and it's mandy, don't sign anything i'm looking for a yamaha,
5 more calls form honda while i'm at the yamaha dealer, they have paper work all ready drawn up.
2:30 phone rings, honda has me a 2006 yamaha. wtf ??
back to the honda dealer. left some pretty mad people at the yamaha dealer.. :D
turns out they just bought a yamaha dealership in marion N.C. they check my quad out there then i'm off to marion
5 pm i arrive in marion. they have no 2006 yfz. they have a guy on his way to rutherfordton to pick one up.
7 pm a blue yamaha appears," i wanted a white one" they start getting it ready
8 pm can't find who i'm allready approved for the money and were on the phone.
8:30 they find out i'm approved through yamaha.... :D
9:30 i get home with my yamaha
thursday and jeff has rode it breaking it in and i havn't rode it but 2 minutes, and it's raining and won't be able to ride untill sunday if even then, so i guess fallston would be a good place to get used to it wouldn't it ?

so what your saying is you traded your suzuki in at the honda place for a new yamaha. thats pretty crazy. where is this brushy creek youre talking about and how far. thinking about going to k-bar in gaffeny sat. if you can still ride down there:huh
yup your right pj about the yamaha.. brushy mtn. is in talorsville about 30 mins north of hickory, a GREAT place to ride, best in the state in my opion..

santo is suppose to have a310 cylinder but he couldnt find pistion for it and wont be back till monday. im interested in what you have. lost your telephone no. call me asap:cool:
i for got to mention.. i saved alot of money switching to honda for my yamaha.... :confused:
and geico wasn't involved....
