i need to adjust my valves the intake is suppose to be adjusted to 4000 right? an dthe exhaust at 5000? right if someone could type what it says in the repiar manual on how to adjust the vlves and stuff cuz i don't beleavie i can get a repair manual for a while and they need adjusted real real bad or if someone could tell me that would be really helpfull

i adjusted my valves today with the intructions i got and i got my bike all back together and guess wat the ticking noise is a-lot worse and its smoking quiet a bit more but i think that is cuz the valves were real loose and oil came out but i could use some pro advice

still trying to figure this out i jus started my bike without valves covers on so i could see whta was ticking and to see if oil was still coming outta them is oil suppose to be coming outta the valves and the front two are exhaust valves correct me iif im wrong? cuz thats how i have them adjusted only two valves are spitting up oil also if t hat helps

I'm sure oil is not coming out of your valves, it probably just looks that way. Yes the topend has pressurized oil up to to I'm sure it will have oil splattering everywhere with the valve caps off while its running.

Are you sure you adjusted the vavles correctly? Might be worth a readjust.

Is the oil filter in correctly?
If the valves are adjusted correctly, I would probably remove the rocker box and have a look. My 400ex had the cam gear retaing bolts come loose and caused some damage.

ya its oil lol and i've readjusted them about 3 times aready im done for the night but im gonan try again tomorrow ty for input

ok i think i got it figured out oil is suppose to be spitting outta the valves to lube the valves and the increase in ticking noise is cuz only two valves were lubeing themsevles someones please commment if this is wrong????

Yes the entire topend will have oil running through it to lube the valves and rockers.

If your oil filter is in wrong the topend of your motor will be ruined form not getting oil. I am parting out a 2002 for this exact reason right now.

It is impossible for oil to be coming out of the valves.
