i just got a tc shorty pipe and the stock header is to long how woud i put it on

i think you have to cut your stock header down.

When i got mine I cut the stock header about 5 1/2 inches. I cut a lil longer at first to make sure. Remeber go a little longer then u think at first to be sure you dont over do it.

JR dont u mean cut it a little longer cause it easier to cut more than weld the pipe back together.

you have to cut 5 7/16's of a inch off exaclty,it can't be 5 and a 1/2:blah:

does tc sell a complete shorty pipe, like with head pipe included.

Not that I am aware of. Their shorty silencers are designed to be used with the stock head pipe. And yes, it does need to be cut down to fit properly.

Yeah they do actually sell headpipes as well. I believe you have to buy it as a whole system though.

Hmm, I didn't know that :ermm: Still, if that's the price they want for just the silencer, i'd hate to ask what a full system would run.

One of my favorite pipes regardless :cool:

I have one, and on a 400ex he dose not make a header for it, he just uses the stock headpipe to retain the lowend grunt the pipe is known for.

Yea when i talked to him he said he doesnt make head pipes.

I think if you try to use a aftermarket head pipe you will blow the head gasket :o

Call up TC then, it was a quote on quote,the TC was made in conjuction to work with the stock header :rolleyes:

couple posts down,im sorry if i can't remeber something being said from awhile back but it is a quote on quote,that TC made it to be used with the stock header :chinese:

when i called and asked about a heade r i was told quote " I dont make headers for my pipes they are for bottom end."
