'06 450ER Assembly has begun....

Just wait fellas....Holz LT front end and Elkas are coming this week I think and a Sparks exhaust the following week. If I can get my hands on a HRC kit soon, i'm gonna go that route too. See if Honda is blowing smoke up our arses or not about the 50 HP with HRC kit installed :D


Then this winter, powdercoat/gusset the frame and probably some more motor mods (piston/head work)

U sure dont waste time! Does sparks make an exhaust for the 06 already? Has anyone made an airfilter for it yet?

From what I've been told....Sparks is suppose to have their pipe design done by next week but I'd take that with a grain of salt because Sparks works on their own schedule :rolleyes:

is it just me or does the 06 radiator look a ton bigger? :confused:

Its just you cuz its not bigger at all. Fan is alot smaller than previous 450rs

If I remember correctly, there's a yellow wire with RED dashes and a black wire with White dashes....those are the 2 wires ya need. Doesnt take 5 seconds to tear apart the control box to look though so you might check, i'm horrible at remember wiring! But hook the Yellow wire to the solid black wire on the YZ switch and the black wire w/ white dashes to the matching wire on the YZ killswitch. That should be it!!

Picking my Elkas up tomorrow fellas!! A-arms will be here beginning of next week :D

those are 04/05 nerfs and ims pegs

Yeah, the nerfs and pegs all bolt up fine. The LSR axle and anti-fades for the '04/'05 work also. Almost have all my parts together to finish the 1st assembly stage of the bike.....gonna test 'er out this weekend at the dunes!

why would you use a yz kill switch?you mean as a start button?

Yeah, you can wire it into the stock wiring and it works as a e-start button....looks cool and gives it a clean look. Pointless to keep the huge box if you're not gonna use the lights like me.....

haha i have the yz engine stop switch instead of the box starter thing on my quad too haha , i thought i was the only person :cool:

I really dont know if the LSR swingarm/linkage will work.....cuz the new shock mount is different for the rear shock. You might be able to swap the WHOLE rear end over but i dont think so. You need to call and ask LSR on that one....

04/05 A-Arms will fit a 06.....You just have to use the spindles from a 04/05.........

okay, i am picking up my 450er next week. I currently have a 04 450r. I know that the top a arms are only 8 mm shorter to give it a better camber and handle better so why would not 04 a arms such as roll design that are fully ajustable to the camber fit. Did they change the way the spindles are setup? Just curious so if i need to new parts i can have them here. THanks

they also changed the spindles they are solid and a different design. they are supposted to be alot stronger than the 04 and 05. thats why if u want to run your 04/05 a arms u have to use the old spindles too.
i also have an 04 im trying to see what it would cost to trade up for an 06.
