I was thinking, looking at specs for 06 and 04-05 450r. Would it be possible to put a 06 96mm cylinder on a 04-05? that would mean with the 04-05 crank you should have a bore and stroke of 96mm X 64.8. Giving you a 470 "stroker" relativily easly without tearing into the bottom end.

Someone posted the head and cylinders are totally different. So no...won't fit.

It won't work.. the only way to srtoke a engine is to modify the crank, not just putting a bigger bore on it !!

You could replace the whole top end like they used to do with the 250r. The bottom end's the same right?

i'm not quite sure if they are the same because i know the new crankcase holds more oil than before.

Would the addition of the starter be the reason for more oil? I've never dealt with an electric start quad before so I don't really know how that works.
