Now that the big three manufacturers all have 450cc Sport ATVs, I figured it would be nice to have the specs most talked assembled side by side, and hopefully it can help you decide which one is right for you.

2006 Honda TRX450R, Suzuki LT-R450, Yamaha YFZ450 Specifications (http://www.atvriders.com/atvnews/2006_trx450r_yfz450_ltr450_specs.html)

Let me know if this was of any help, and I may do it for other machines. Also, if you would like to see another spec on the chart let me know, and I will try to have it added.

Yes, that comparison chart is very handy.. Thanks!

I'm also eagerly awaiting the atvriders '06 YFZ vs '06 450R side by side ride comparisons.

The testing was great between the 450R and YFZ450, and I am doing to reports from the test. The first report will be on the Honda 450R and its updates for 2006. The report to follow will be the YFZ450 compared to the TRX450R.

We collected lap time data and thoughts from the three test riders after each lap, and I plan to have the Honda up this week and the YFZ450 vs TRX450 up next week.

Admin, some of your specifications are wrong.

The ones I notice are the Bore for the Suzuki you have listed is 96.6mm...It's really 95.5mm & you also have Bore for the Yamaha wrong you have it listed as 95.5mm whereas it's really 95mm.

Other than that, nice comparision.

The Suzuki is 96.6mm per the Suzukicycles.com website Link (http://www.suzukicycles.com/Products/LTR450K6/Specs/Default.aspx)

The Yamaha was a type-o and I will fix it.

Okay, I'm pretty sure thats a typo on Suzuki's website too. Because the MX bike has the same 62.8mm Stroke and a 95.5mm Bore.

If it were to have a 96.6mm Bore it would displace at 461cc...to big for the 450cc Displacement limit.

I've read else where that the LT-R also has a 11.7:1 Compression Ratio compared to the 12:1 Suzuki has listed on there site, but that neither here nor there so I would leave that alone...but I do find it suspicious that the quad has a higher compression ratio than the MX bike at 11.9:1.

Once again just trying to help out.

Good comparo sheet.

Another engine spec that would be good to see would be valve sizes. I think they are listed in the OEM info for all the quads.

Example:

TRX450R
Intake 36mm Ti
Exhaust 30mm Steel

LT-R450
Intake 36mm Ti
Exhaust 29mm Ti

...

It might also be good to add more detail about the LT-R450's fuel injection

Example:

ECM uses a 16 bit CPU
42mm throttle body

What is the gear ratio on the Suzuki?
