Ive got an 05 thats stock and im looking to improve performance. Everyone i ride with is doing the pipe thing and jetting, well thats all well and great when we are at the track or the parks, but I also use my quad for put putting in the forrest and to get to and fro when hunting. I cant be any louder than it already is. What if anything can I do to get More Umph. Top speed is not really an issue. I can hurt myself just fine at the 60 or so mph Ive got now. Thanks

u could get a 13 tooth front sprocket......or some people take the lid off the air boxx

yea, try gear changes. a smaller front or bigger rear sprocket will definately give you a bunch more 'umph', but lose some top speed- but doesnt seem to be an issue with you.

taking out the choke and plugging in a 42pilot jet helps with throttle response and overall power gain (minimal, but every ounce counts)

Dont bother with the powernow, not really worth it. Also taking the lid off is going to slightly increase noise output as well. You will hear a deep noise when you hit the gas.

instead of buying a powernow you can put a metal plate in the intake right before the carb, you get a little more throttle responce doing this.

i put a yoshimura comp series full exhuast on my dads 400ex and with the quiet core it wasnt very noisey.

K&N/Uni air filter, high compression stock bore piston or 416 piston and a different cam, or a curtis sparks advanced timing key.

Go with this...I built one like this and kept the stock exhuast. We had a good power gaine and no noise increase. Most aftermarket exhuast don't do much to increase power anyway.

If you have more gas going in, more air coming in, you need more exhuast flowing out. I would get a quiet aftermarket exhuast. They flow better than stock and are not loud.
