Gt Thunder has a awesome 400ex revalve kit. i cant say anything about Baldwins because I dont know.

I know on Brandons (Laz's kid)When he raced his ex it was on a revalve and worked spectacular.

With the invasion of the 450's 400ex parts are going for pennies. You can pick up an axis rear shock for a 400ex for between 2 and 3 hundred on ebay. (I paid 240 for a dual rate comp adj a few months back). Then have it rebuilt if its not set for you weight. Still this is cheap and 100 times better then a rebuild.

I run a stock rear with the elka dual rate rear and it performs just as good as my buddies with an elka rear. You cant notice the difference IMO. If your budget minded just do rebuilds

GT Thunder rebuild....THE BEST route. Laz is the suspension wiz!!

I had an aftermarket rear on my 450R...and switched back to the GT Thunder rebuild, it works ALOT better. I don't know everything he does, I just know it works.

if your within a stones throw of his shop, you shouldnt be asking us anything, you should be posting how the shock felt after he rebuilt it:cool:

Laz is about 45 minutes from me, shock and link rides better all the way around.

I think its probably one of the best bangs for the buck on a 400ex. Link and revalve was quite a bit cheaper than having my previous shock revalved by baldwin.
