No a stock vs stock honda vs yfz will not, at least the 04-05s i dunno bout the 06s.
With eaqual riders in a drag race the stock yfz will beat a stcok trx, the 06 trxs may be even, or win.

However their is much more rome for improvement in the honda. If you just want to buy a pipe and filter then go with the yfz. After a 13:1 piston, a good cam, fcr carb, a nice system and a good hi-flow filter the 450r will beat about any built yfz. assuming they are boht 450s.

i raced a modded out trx450r and a stock yfz with my stock 450r and i beat the yfz barley in about a 400ft draga nd lost to the 450r.

I've beat allot of yamaha's and have been beaten by allot of yamaha's. Who cares about drag races any ways wtf is this the NHRA?

I think what he's asking is if a stock 2006 450r can beat a stock 2006 yfz in a drag race.

well when I went to the dunes here in Mich. the only Honda that beat me was with a 480 kit in it there was also one with the hrc kit and that was not a problem I have a stock bore stock piston the only mods on my bike is a pipe cammod and ready air filter

stock vs stock a yfz is a little faster. a better rider on the 450r will make up for it though. the new 06'450rs will smoke the 06 yfz's. thers been people saying that a 06 450r will beat latter years R with a intake, pipe, jetted, and a cam. the 06's are one hell of an engine.

I actually race on a sand mx track and I have been to the dunes more than once and I never drag race to tell ya the truth drag racing bores me to death. When I'm at the dunes I like to carve bowls jump razorbacks and them big naturall tables. I ride the dunes the way you would imagine a motocrosser rides the dunes. if you want a dragster why don't you build a banshee any ways?

Hmmmmm you might be suprised. I wasn't there to see it myself but at our XC race (www.atvccs.com) last weekend the top pro in our series (An R rider) drag raced another racers 06 R against an 06 YFZ. Both bikes were totally stock, airbox lids, stock exhaust (even the pea shooter in the yfz). My info came from the R rider for what it's worth.

It was very close. The R pulled the YFZ out of the hole but the YFZ passed it. Real close, no smoking involved either way. They even switched out quads with the same results. This is only one race, there will be many more and the results could be different everytime.

Both of the riders are members on this site. If you want to ask the riders themselves their usernames are Shawn Hess (R) and Davis327 (YFZ). I am pretty sure there were several other site members there to see it maybe they will chime in. For the record the same 06 R won the Junior A class and the same 06 YFZ won the Senior class in the XC races.

They are both great bikes. Either bike in the right hands can win. Ride them both and get the one that fits you best.
