R450 QuadRacer Specifications (http://www.atvriders.com/atvnews/2006_suzuki_r450_quadracer_specs.html)

Suzuki created the high-performance sport quad market in 1985 with the QuadRacer LT250R. Since then, the ATV market and the state of Suzuki performance technology has changed greatly. And 20 years later, the QuadRacer is back. Having built a brand name around the manufacture of high-performance motorcycles and new award-winning ATVs, Suzuki is ready to deliver the finest high-performance sport ATV available.

And not a moment too soon. As racing becomes more and more expensive for ATV enthusiasts, Suzuki delivers race-ready hardware at a price that can’t be beat. The 2006 Suzuki LT-R450 QuadRacer is designed for race-ready performance – winning performance – with little or no modifications necessary.

The new quad features a 450cc four-stroke engine with Suzuki electronic fuel injection, and it’s based on the championship-winning RM-Z450 MX bike’s engine. It’s equipped with a track-holding wide stance and long-travel, competition-ready suspension that’s fully adjustable.

A lightweight and strong steel swingarm, center exhaust, titanium valves, new dry sump system, magnesium covers, aluminum front hubs, electric start, removable headlight, and liquid cooling – just a few of the strong features that will make the LT-R450 the class leader of high-performance sport quads

Can't wait for the first shoot-out of the new 450's!!!!! I wanna see this EFI badboy at work.........yes the raptor is also but it isn't built to compete like the 450's.

My friend is a Suzuki freak and he will be one of the first to have one. He is already talking smack , he thinks that the Suzuki 450 stock will outrun my quad and i think he's actually serious. Im sure that thing will beat the other 450's stock but i can't wait to show him that he's gonna need to put some $$$ into that machine to beat me. (On a straight stretch)

I am anxious to see how it does against the other 450's....I won't be buying one but when will they be available to purchase?? I'm also surprised that Suzuki didn't keep the weight in par with the other two 450's at 350lbs. I'm sure the fuel injection will make up for it though;)

im not seeing a base price anywhere tho? and with the center exhaust, wont that be a problem once you bottom out? it will crush the silencer from the swingarm, right?

Pretty sure I'll have one. For that price, and for the way it's set up, you can't beat it. Does anyone think it'll be fast????? I SURE DO!!!

the only thing the rapter can compete with is a ds650 and banshee.

if some won took a 300ex and went against a rapter 660 on a mx track the honda would win.

i beat r rapter in drag races and the inside of the engine is stock except that it is 407cc and sis stuff i have in sig.

ill probly get the first years won.

and how much ground clearnce does it have and whats the sheat hight.

that thing is going to be awesome for MX im glad i got my 450R because I like to ride the woods.

I hope it comes out and does real well. Competition is the best thing for our sport. Having the "BIG THREE" going back and forth, raising the bar everytime. I could see this helping the sport getting more TV time and more.

I think I know the formula for getting CC from bore and stroke. So if you take there 96.6 X 62.8 it comes to 460.26165cc. Now I know the specs just came out and might be a mistake, but 460cc won't be good for the 450 class. The formula is bore X bore X .7854 X stroke right?

this thing looks sick for mx id like to get it for woods though in a year or two used, put sum bigger tires, skinnier a arms/axle, skid plates, and some new bars if it performs as they say it should. Although i am a loyal honda man and am thinking about a 06 450r in a year or two. Cant wait for a shootout between the two.

I love all the woods people whining about it being to wide when 99% of the time they put wheel spacers on. Mx guys have had to buy all the crap forever its about time the woods guys did!

nope wrong, it is bore x bore x 3.1416 x stroke divided by 4, but your answer is still right:D

It would be nice if they had a XC version. I can see right now for woods racing if we got to get bigger tires, you have to change the ratio on sprockets. I just want to know if the front end is 49". Maybe that is the rear. We (XC) riders can deal with 46-47 up front, be nice to be around 46" though.

Maybe the suzuki market went after MX, if so they will lose on the other 90% of the riders of the world.

I like the way they have everything low. It should corner like a mother juker. Maybe is will raise the bar for the others.

iceracer17
10-04-2005, 04:36 AM
Don't you change sprockets now when you go to a bigger tire???

Hey woods guys stop complaining and buy a z400 or some offset rims to acomodate for the width of the z450. Its about time a manufactuer built a race ready quad, you guys will see how well it does and the other guys will start making a full race version to keep the cost down in racing! This is an awsome step for the market and its only the start of things to come, so dont bash everybody is going to benefit.:D

From what they say Kawi is going to make a race ready woods quad.

aren't you required to have one on the back of the quad for nationals?

well, maybe one one offset to the left or right....who knows

MCR19
10-05-2005, 04:49 PM
i think it looks sweet, but i mean if you mount a thing that goes under the exhaust or to the side under the rear fenders then i would think that if you bottomed it out, the number plate would be gone. well, just have to wait and see

10-05-2005, 05:06 PM
Maybe the after market will make a pipe and mount kit that puts the pipe back over on the right side? Or the ATVA will change some rules, who knows. I wonder what the advantage of having it exit in the center is, or did they just want to be different?

Warnerade
10-05-2005, 06:18 PM
i'd imagine the center exhaust is jsut for an even weight distribution...

sometihng that makes sence in my head though is that since its EFI...the intake is on the front of the engine, and the exhaust is in the rear of it...so, the exhaust is just a straight shot out...wich would improve performance by a decent amount...too bad thats not how it is though:ermm:

Seat height is 30.7. That's with 20 in front and 18 in rear tires ofcoarse. Ground clearance is a misprint on our sheet it says 9.44".

Correct me but I do believe the correct method of measuring the cc of an engine is
1/2 of bore times 1/2 of bore times Pi times stroke divided by 1000 which is:

47.75 x 47.75 x 3.1412 x 62.80 / 1000 = 449.7819

Center exet exhaust keeps the longtravel guys from hitting the rear brake caliper on the exhaust can.

Ask the YFZ guys about that one.

I contacted Suzuki to confirm which specs are correct for the Suzuki, and the verified that the specs on the website are inaccurate as everyone figured out, and the original specs that I received were correct, so I made the appropriate changes to the specs to reflect the 95.5m bore and 11.7:1 compression.

It is good to see that many of the members where able to figure out the cc issue with the larger bore size.

10-06-2005, 01:52 PM
lol I remember a week ago alot of people in the open forum didn't believe it was the real quad. I bet they feel stupid now.

Onething I don't understand is won't the exhaust now get crushed by the whole swing-arm instead of just dented by the caliper?

I'm not sure if I'm reading you right but that is one high mounted exhaust as far as I can see.

Obviously not, if Suzuki aimed for the MX crowd then they wouldn't make it so the exhaust crushes the first time you hit a decent jump.

A few questions.

1)Spec's say it's a Dry Sump, but where is the oil tank? Is it built into the engine cases or right in front of the engine and I'm just to blind to see it?

2)On the Left side is that the fuel pump hanging there on the top frame rail? Why wouldn't they use an intank setup like the Raptor?

Well, has anyone else has a chance to sit on it and if so what did you think? I just sat on it last week at the Seattle motorcycle show. The suspension feels very plush for a stock quad.
