I'm gettin an 06 soon, what i cant decide is whether to get estart or not. I will be keepin this bike mostly stock for the weekend trail rides and field stomps. I dont think i'll get tired of kickin for a while and to be quite honest i just dont wanna mess with buyin, chargin batteries etc...Then again estart is considered a luxury. What do uthink?

id get e start....ive stalled my yfz and my 400ex in corners, and re started without skipping a beat, with kick, i would lose alot of time and not be able to catch up

im not gonna race prolly just trail ride so i dont have to worry bout losin time after stalling. i just wanna make sure i make the right decision. I think ill just keep it simple and keep it a kicker.

If you buy a kicker you will have very poor resale value compared to the e-start !! I would also bet you will not find a kick start version very easy ..

if ur a rec rider why would you even consider kickstart, honda is flawless with there stuff, my 400ex had the same battery for 5 years and it still was fine when i sold it, go with e start, kickin that thing wont be fun with muddy boots or snow and ice etc...

I went from a estart 400 to kicker 450r and wouldnt go back, anyhintg i buy will be conveted to kick and loose the battery. If your to muhc of a lil ***** to kick it, then you dont belong on it. Might as well start *****ing about no reverse while were at it, *****s. :macho

instead of choosing on how it starts you should choose on how it performs once its started.;)

I agree. I say the kickstart version of the 450r will be about a popular as a kickstart YFZ.

Go with the e-start and you will more than make up the difference in price when you go to sell it.

As for all you guys who say you shouldn't ride it if you can't kick it...please show up at the national in Ohio and lets compare times.

Coming from someone who has a 300ex

Get the e-start version, you'll be much better off. I would still try and get the kick start because it makes for an excellent back up starter. I have both kick and electric on my yfz and wouldn't have it any other way.

kick start is alot of fun imo

but if i had the chance again, i would go estart, no second thoughts... its just to much to mess with when your shoe/boot is slippery and weighing 100 pounds from water and mud

besides, like said before, the resale value will be higher

and those who say estart is for pussies are only insecure about there sexuallity and need to feel tough by kicking over a quad that isnt that hard to kick over in the first place

does the e-start version allow use of a kicker?? if it was that would influence my decision alot. why not have both, like the old honda utilty trikes????

I had bikes with e-start imo its a pain in the ***, something allways goes wrong when you dont want it too, Had to get towed back countless times.

With kick, its much easyier and if you ask me, they arent hard to kick over at all. I know when I get my 450r when ever the time comes its going to be a kick start for sure.

I've had to be pull started a few times on my warrior, I've had to pull a few 400ex's, 300ex's too. the only time a kicker let me down was when it flew off(it was really loose and a relacement was on its way) and also when the replacement kicker I got wasn't in anywhere near the shape the guy said it was and I had to wedge thin metal for the kicker not to slip out of place. After that I learned DON'T buy used kick starters, only new ones. Infact the worst part about loosing my kicker was getting harassed by a cop for my bike running when I pushed it down the street(we have to in this one place I used to ride, about 300 ft). I'd buy a e-start bike, but it better have a kicker on it too.
