400ex hybrid

i am looking into buying a yfz and selling my 2002 400ex, but i am also wondering if i could put a yfz450 engine into my 400ex frame?? does the yfz engine and the 400ex frame have the same engine mounts, will it work??:confused:

You can do the YZ 400,426,and 440 motors

but the yfz engine wont fit into my frame, im just thinking that it will be cheaper to buy the engine and put it into my frame.

im not to sure about the YFZ engine,i think it would be better to buy the YFZ and build a YZF:devil:

or just sell the EX engine and all things to get it running,electric,carb,airboot,airbox,exhaust,as a whole

and buy a YZF engine and throw it in there :macho

If you buy the engine you will need to weld in tabs for the radiator, new engine mounts, gussett the frame, modify the frame and swingarm so that the chain will align right, etc etc. It's better off to just buy the YFZ, I was in the same position a while back and ended up selling my 400ex.
