Ive read alot of stuff on break in, so what the verdic, are semi-synthtics like bel-ray thumper oils ok to use, or are staight petroleum products better?

While you may be ok with using a semi-synthetic for break-in, it would be even better to do the initial break-in using some suitable junk conventional oil. The rings will seat better that way. Just run the conventional stuff for the first few rides or tank of fuel, then run whatever you want :)
