does a rev limiter increase horsepower dramatically or is it not going to increase power by much. what can i get thatll increase mid range power for reasonably cheap? i already plan on getting a hmf exhaust. what else?

A rev limiter won't change hp at all.

i dont no what quad u have but dont get a 400ex a high rev box cuz the higher rpm u go the less power u have on a 400ex plus i think it stops making power at 8000 rpm

u could get a degree key and would get like 2 more hp that would cost u like $20. not much more power but u get alot more power for the munny.

big gun rev box gives it 1 more hp some how and its like only $80.

i think it gives u 1 hp more between 8000 and 9000 rpm which means u would be running with a total of 1 hp at that rpm.
my pocket bike has 4.5 hp at that rpm

rev box = no Hp but it does make a differance in your spark advance yes will feel it an a degree key is the best hp 4 your cheep pocket

On a stock machine, you hit peak horsepower before you hit the rev limit. After that, power starts to drop off. By the time you hit the rev limit, you're down 7-10hp from peak, and dropping fast.

So, on a stock engine, a higher rev limit won't increase power at all. With modifications, a higher rev limit might help, but not on a stock machine.

Dude, take your choke out. Free HP plus much improved throttle response. Worry about a rev box when you change the cam. Then get a rev box to suit that cam.
