hey i just finished my YZ426 hybrid.. and i noticed when i give it alot of gas as in 3/4 to full throttle.. it will start to cut out and want to die.. i was wondering what was the problem here.. i know that before the motor was givin to me it worked amazingly .. and since i put this all in my frame i have not changed a thing on the carb.. what do you guys think is my problem? ive heard alot about a fuel accelerator pump adjusting but the fact that this did run perfect before makes me think thats not the problem.. let me know.. thanks guys!:)

try to see if your jetting is off.the air box on the quad could be more free flowing than the one on the bike.also im sure your exhaust system was modded as well.

Yes ,
That is correct.
What all was changed during the conversion...
Air filter,
Air box,
exhaust,
Make sure all electrical connections are clean and tight.
Also the coil mount and its grounds.

i am running a stock 400ex airbox with a freshly cleaned uni filter...

i have the snorkel out with that hole just left open for air.. i have 6 holes about the width of your thumb in the top of the lif and one hole about 1.5 inches wide with some PVC in there..

the exhaust is one that came with the motor it was made to fit in the 400ex frame..

the problem like i said is only about 3/4 to full throttle.. isnt that called the main jet?

do you think im not getting enough air or too much?

and the coil and everything is all mounted ok....

Did you try to run it with out the air box lid?

no not yet.. i guess ill try that tommorow ...

any other ideas?

i know its gotta have air.. it feels like its not getting enough gas.. all the hoses and stuff are fine.. what do you guys think?

now im not no expert but i think buy the sounds of it the jetting is off and its running too lean so its sucking in way to much air and not enough gas when u punch it ....now i mite be wrong so no1 get all pissed if im wrong .....and where did you get the motor from

yea my guess would be to lean.... bump up the main jet a few sizes and see how that works, POST SOME PICS!!

did you try running with out the lid yet, what were the result (better or worse) if it was worse then you are to lean and need to bump the main jet one or two sizes, if it was better, then you are too rich and need a smaller main jet

I have a open air box
and I went up one size on the pilot
and two on the main.
Don`t recall the numbers.

i think stock pilot is a 40 i put a 48 in cecause it was doing the same as yours
